Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma OT, 2024 NFL Scouting Report

Welcome to SKOL Search!

This series will be your guide to the 2024 draft class. From scouting reports to mock drafts and exploring different scenarios, we will be covering the NFL draft and the future of the Minnesota Vikings from all angles.

The focus of the draft class in this space will be on the Vikings’ major needs at quarterback, running back, defensive line and edge rusher. We will also focus on wide receiver since it’s a loaded class and an increased chance to get a Stefon Diggs-type steal in the later rounds.

The Vikings are slated to have 9 picks going into the NFL draft and they need to make the most out of them.

Guyton has a lot of length and uses it well. Doesn’t let defenders get into his chest and keeps them at bay.

Bends at the knees rather than at the waist and keeps himself in good position in pass blocking reps.

Has solid power in his hands. Drives defenders back when his punch is well-placed.

Plus athleticism for his size. Moves more like a tight end than a tackle.

Guyton moves well in space but doesn’t always take great angles. He can overrun defenders and miss blocks in space.

Plays a little bit too tall in the running game and he doesn’t have the strength to drive when he isn’t getting good leverage.

Gets a little bit inconsistent out of his set. Would like to see some cleaner footwork.

Guyton is built like a lot of hyper athletic tackles you see in the NFL. He is also more technically advanced for a player of his experience. With experience as a blind side blocker on both the left and right side, Guyton can make an impact early.
