Cowboys 7-round mock draft builds from the inside out in 2024

Curiously the Cowboys have neither signed any notable free agent defensive tackles, nor have they devoted 30-visit resources to them. Arguably the biggest problem with their 2023 defense has gone unaddressed, and with the free agent loss of Johnathan Hankins, it appears to have only gotten worse.

Dallas may not be telegraphing their intentions to pick up a DT in the 2024 NFL draft, but it seems as if it’s unavoidable given the limited options left on the free agent market.

At 6-foot, 284-pounds, Wingo doesn’t fill a size need for Dallas but he fits their profile which targets explosive players with relentless motors. Wingo has the kind of athletic skills the Cowboys love and could factor into a variety of roles on the Dallas defense.

Wingo’s not a 2-gap nose tackle like Hankins but he’s a standout run defender who helps improve the Cowboys interior.
