Auburn earns commitment of four-star OT Carde Smith

Auburn football’s 2025 recruiting class got stronger on Wednesday with the addition of Carde Smith.

Smith, a four-star offensive tackle from Mobile, Alabama, chose Auburn over Florida State and Mississippi State on Wednesday. On his visit to Auburn last month, he spoke with On3’s Cole Pinkston about Auburn’s place within his top schools. He told Pinkston that he “wanted to be” at Auburn as much as Auburn coaches want Smith to be there. He also shared his thoughts on Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thornton.

“Coach Thornton is a great coach, I like the way he interacts with his players,” Smith said in a recent interview with On3. “Tell them when they’re wrong, pull them to the side.”

Smith’s commitment adds value to Auburn’s recruiting haul as he becomes the fourth offensive lineman to pledge to the 2025 class, joining Tai Buster, Spencer Dowland, and Tavaris Dice. Need more information on Smith? Check out Smith’s commitment profile below.
