The Iowa Hawkeyes are in the thick of spring football practices this year and now is the time for new faces to mesh, new schemes to get installed, and young guys to get valuable reps.
For the Hawkeyes, the biggest question mark and area of importance in this spring is the implementation and adaption to the offense under new offensive coordinator Time Lester. Equally as important is Lester getting used to working with head coach Kirk Ferentz and the two of their styles meshing.
Defensively, Iowa is primed to once again be one of college football’s best units. Led by Phil Parker and bringing back eight starters from a dominant unit, this group should once again be a reason Iowa wins games.
As Cade McNamara works back from an ACL injury, he has began throwing during spring practices which is a good sign of his rehab. Alongside McNamara is Deacon Hill, Marco Lainez, and Tommy Poholsky.
