Patriots QB Bailey Zappe ranked dead last in this statistic

New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe is last in a statistic that may make Patriots fans cringe.

For context, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones ranked last out of all quarterbacks on first down efficiency. He converted only 30 percent of his attempts, per NFL analyst Warren Sharp.

Sharp’s calculations are ranked using several different variables and metrics on first down. Jones ranked number 47 out of 48 quarterbacks with the removal of attempts under pressure. The only worse quarterback?

Bailey Zappe.

This certainly does not paint the Western Kentucky product in a positive light as it relates to his play. He went 2-4 as a starter for New England, and it became clear the Patriots needed a revamp at the quarterback position.

The Patriots are in line to take a quarterback, as they sit with the third overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft. They have been doing their homework on rookies throughout the pre-draft process, and now the waiting game for the draft begins.
