Former Nebraska football quarterback Adrian Martinez scores five TDs

A former Nebraska quarterback had another MVP performance in the United Football League on Saturday. Adrian Martinez scored five touchdowns in the Birmingham Stallions 35-28 victory over the Houston Roughnecks.

Martinez had three touchdowns via the air while adding two more on the ground. He finished 19-of-31 passing for 173 yards while adding six carries for 44 yards.

The quarterback played four seasons at Nebraska, from 2018-21, before transferring to Kansas State to finish his career. While in college, he threw for 9,391 yards and 49 touchdowns with 30 interceptions. Martinez also ran for 2,847 yards and 44 touchdowns.

With the victory, the Stallions improved to 8-0 on the season. They will take the field again on Saturday, May 25, when they face the San Antonio Brahmas at The Alamodome.
