Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire recently released his list of the top NFL free agents still available and former Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons headlines the list.
Joining Simmons on the list of top safeties are Eddie Jackson, Quandre Diggs and Tashaun Gipson. Many fans in Denver would like to see Simmons return to Denver, but the Broncos are not expected to re-sign him.
Another former Denver defensive back also made the list: K’Waun Williams is listed at cornerback alongside Adoree’ Jackson, Stephon Gilmore, Xavien Howard, Steven Nelson and Patrick Peterson.
The top quarterback available is Ryan Tannehill, but after trading for Zach Wilson and drafting Bo Nix, the Broncos seem unlikely to sign a QB.
Former Denver guard Dalton Risner also made the list, as did former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas. Given his past success under Broncos coach Sean Payton, Thomas has been linked to Denver this offseason, but there have been no reports of serious interest.
Another player of note to the Broncos is defensive lineman Calais Campbell, who was born and raised in Denver and nearly signed with the Broncos in 2017. You can view Farrar’s complete list of the top NFL free agents available below.
