Pro Bowl Returner Jakeem Grant Among 6 Tryout Players at Jets Minicamp

WR Jakeem Grant (5-7, 170)
Grant was drafted by the Dolphins in the sixth round in 2016 out of Texas Tech and played five seasons with Miami. He last played in the regular season in 2021 for the Bears after he was traded from Miami to Chicago. Grant signed a multi-year deal with the Browns in 2022, but has dealt with two season-ending injuries sustained in the summer. He ruptured his Achilles tendon in 2022 and his patellar tendon in 2023. Grant has 100 career receptions, but made the Pro Bowl in 2021 as a returner. He’s also been a second-team All-Pro twice (2020 and ’21). Grant has four punt return TDs and two kickoff returns in his career.

OL Corey Luciano (6-4, 307)
Luciano played in two games last season for the 49ers after he signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent out of Washington last May. He played center for the Huskies after he transferred from Diablo Valley College, a junior college in California.

DL Jeremy Lewis (6-2, 237)
Lewis went undrafted in April and participated in the Green & White’s rookie minicamp as a tryout. He played five seasons at Eastern Carolina and tallied 150 tackles, 11 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss in 54 games (34 starts). He was named a co-captain this past season and was named third-team All-AAC. Lewis played on both sides of the ball in 2019 (TE/DL) and 2020 before moving to defense for the ’21 season.

OL Pat Elflein (6-4, 295)
Elflein began his career with Minnesota after being drafted in the third round (No. 70) out of Ohio State in 2017. He played three full seasons (43 starts) for the Vikings before Minnesota waived him after one start in 2020 and was claimed by the Jets. He started the final six games of the season for the Green & White before signing with the Panthers during the 2021 offseason. He started 15 games over two seasons for the Panthers, was released in March 2023 and signed with the Cardinals in July. He was placed on injured reserve last August.
