Colorado Buffaloes football keys to winning big in 2024 season

Unlike a year ago, the college football world has now seen what head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes look like. Granted, the black and gold were much improved last season, but 4-8 isn’t exactly intimidating.

If they want to shift the narrative by winning more football games, Sanders and the Buffs must make significant leaps in certain areas. The loose screws of last season need to be tightened up while the proven bright spots must continue to thrive in the newly-built foundation at Colorado.

Offensive play-calling duties were reallocated in the middle of last season, time management remained a consistent issue and most weeks featured at least one decision that left fans scratching their heads. While you can’t build Rome in a day, the coaching has room to improve.

Everyone knows that Shedeur Sanders was the most-sacked quarterback in the nation last year, even if he could have thrown a few extra passes out of bounds. The Buffaloes boasted the fewest number of rushing yards per game as well. In addition to giving Sanders more time to show that he’s a top QB in college football, the O-line needs to help establish the run game to keep the offense multi-dimensional.
