“It meant a lot to me,” Wallace said of his father joining him on his visits this weekend. “To him, he loves Florida. Yesterday, he came decked out in all Florida gear. He was ready to turn up for his birthday, and he was ready to come to Florida. That was a great birthday gift. He was very happy.”
Things also got emotional during Wallace’s first trip, in which his father accompanied him to the university’s campus.
“He looked like he was going to cry,” Wallace said after that trip. “It was pretty good… seeing him with a smile on his face. Then he got to meet Brandon Spikes — that really made his day. And made me happy.”
