The Atlanta Falcons and first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. have agreed to terms on a four-year, $22.88 million contract with a signing bonus of $13.46 million on Friday, according to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Penix, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 draft, was the last unsigned member of the team’s rookie class.
The former Washington quarterback was among the most surprising selections in this year’s draft, but his talent was never in doubt. In 2023, Penix led the Huskies to the National Championship game with an incredible campaign, passing for 4,906 yards, 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Penix headlined the Falcons’ eight-player draft class, which also included Clemson defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro and Washington EDGE Bralen Trice. Here’s how fans on Twitter reacted to Penix signing his rookie deal.
