Military Appreciation: Nov. 9 vs. Minnesota


PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football will host its annual Military Appreciation Day for the Nov. 9 matchup against Minnesota at SHI Stadium. The game is presented by Provident Bank.  

A military flyover will take place prior to the game, while various military vehicles will be placed along the Rutgers Boardwalk for photo opportunities. Military members will be recognized throughout the day and will line the pregame tunnel to welcome the Scarlet Knights onto the field. Giveaways for the game include “Beat Minnesota” buttons and shakers. 

Rutgers’ seven-game 2024 home schedule closes out with Senior Day/Thank You Fans on Nov. 23 versus Illinois. The home finale gives fans one final chance to celebrate graduating seniors, with members of each senior’s hometown invited to support. More details to come this fall. 

Single game tickets for Military Appreciation and Senior Day/Thank You Fans are now on sale. Kickoff times for both games will be released later on. 

Along with Military Appreciation and Senior Day/Thank You Fans, Rutgers seven-game home slate features Youth Football Night (Aug. 29), R Community Game (Sept. 7), Blackout (Sept. 27), Scarlet Out (Oct. 12) and Homecoming (Oct. 19). 

The Rutgers Boardwalk, presented by VisitNJ.org, returns to highlight the pregame festivities around SHI Stadium for all seven home games. Stop by Scarlet Knight Way to enjoy the top food trucks in New Jersey, experience free rides, games, interactive experiences, prizes and live entertainment. 

Get to The Rutgers Boardwalk early for the pregame parade and pep rally featuring The Scarlet Knight Marching Band, Spirit Team, the Scarlet Knight horse “Excalibur” with the Knight and the football team arrival. The Rutgers Boardwalk opens four hours prior to kickoff.
