The Miami Dolphins haven’t emphasized the tight end position much during the Mike McDaniel era. Despite franchise tagging Mike Gesicki just a month after hiring McDaniel, the Dolphins haven’t had a tight end reach even 400 receiving yards in the last two seasons.
That could be set to change in 2024, though. The Dolphins made a priority to add former Falcons, Patriots, and Titans tight end Jonnu Smith on a two-year, $8.4 million deal.
So where does the Dolphins’ tight end group now rank with the addition of Smith? That question was answered by ESPN’s Mike Clay who used a formula to grade and sort every position unit heading into the 2024 season.
