In games where Williams was active last season, the Rams were 8-4. In games that Williams missed, they were 2-3. When he had at least 80 yards rushing, they were 7-1. The stats show he was critically important to the team’s success, which isn’t always an accurate thing to say about a running back these days, but the Rams were a much better team when Williams was on the field.
Though the Rams have a quality backup now in Corum, Williams remains a key piece of the offensive attack. He should get the bulk of the carries on first and second down and being a capable receiver, Sean McVay will likely look to get him opportunities to catch the ball and have a greater impact as a receiver.
