ELF’s Raiders Add Former XFL Vipers WR Cinque Sweeting

When the USFL-XFL merger went down, it left a lot of talented players without jobs. WR Cinque Sweeting was one of those prospects, who didn’t make it onto a new team after the Vegas Vipers folded when the UFL came together.

After spending some time as a free agent, he’s now found a new home: overseas. The Tirol Raiders of the ELF are signing Sweeting, per Around The ELF.

Cinque Sweeting spent the 2023 XFL season with the Vegas Vipers. He was a consistent force offensively for Vegas, despite the revolving door at the quarterback position. Sweeting posted 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 20 receptions in 2023.

With the Vipers, Cinque started in four of 10 games played. He was also quite valuable on Special Teams. Sweeting returned 22 kicks for 515 yards in 2023, averaging 23.4 yards per return. His 91.7 Kickoff Return grade via PFF was one of the top grades of any XFL player.

The Tirol Raiders appear to be bolstering their roster as the playoffs approach, adding some serious depth with Cinque as we hit the final few games. They’ve already invested in spring football talent, having signed former Battlehawks WR Darion Chafin earlier this year.

It was a surprise that Cinque Sweeting didn’t get a look by any UFL teams, given his success in the XFL. Now, he’ll have a chance to continue his professional career in the ELF, with the Raiders.
