Sunday saw a return to Oct. 2023, when the hot topic in college football was Connor Stalions alleged illegal sign-stealing scheme. With the revelation of the notice of allegations draft from the NCAA, there were multiple staffers mentioned, including former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who could potentially be dinged with a Level I violation for ‘not cooperating’ with the investigation.
Harbaugh’s lawyer, Tom Mars, refutes the notion that Harbaugh didn’t cooperate, but Harbaugh himself finally had something to say about the NCAA investigation.
While at Michigan, Harbaugh was constrained, not allowed to discuss the NCAA investigation, but now that he’s with the Chargers in the NFL, Harbaugh spoke up about the charge that he had anything to do with Stalions’ scheme.
“Yeah, I do have a comment on it,” Harbaugh said. “Never lie, never cheat, never steal. I was raised with that lesson. I have raised my family with that lesson. I have preached that lesson to the teams I have coached. No one’s perfect. If you stumble, you apologize and you make it right.
“Today, I do not apologize. I did not participate, was not aware nor complicit in said allegations. So, for me, it’s back to work and attacking with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.”

At this juncture, no one above Stalions has been found to be complicit with his scheme, and even the ESPN talking heads are backing off the idea that Michigan football will face any serious consequences.
