Zach Ertz makes crazy one-handed catch

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz is set to begin his 13th NFL season and sits atop the team’s depth chart as the No. 1 tight end.

While many believed Ertz was brought to Washington under new head coach Dan Quinn primarily for leadership reasons, he’s out to prove he can still play. Ertz has brought leadership to the Commanders, with several players mentioning how important he and Bobby Wagner have been to the locker room.

Ertz has worked closely with quarterback Jayden Daniels since OTAs began in the spring, and the pair appear to be developing solid chemistry on the field.

During Tuesday’s training camp practice, Ertz and Daniels hooked up again. Daniels dropped a pass in over Ertz’s shoulder, who made a spectacular one-handed grab with safety Jeremy Reaves in coverage.

Ertz clearly still has plenty to give. The Commanders selected Ben Sinnott in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, but Ertz stands above everyone else atop the tight end depth chart heading into the preseason opener.
