Beckham needs no introduction as he’s been one of the most popular receivers in the NFL for about a decade. The former LSU Tiger took the league by storm during his rookie season with the New York Giants, recording 91 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. He totaled over 1,000 yards in five of his first six seasons as a pro, but injuries have slowed him down significantly since then.
While he’s not the superstar he once was, Beckham can still be valuable asset.
One of the most noticeable issues with the Dolphins offense a season ago was that the passing attack struggled to find receiving targets outside of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Both star receivers dealt with nagging injuries during the second half of the season and the offensive game plan grew predictable without their contributions.
Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Beckham will begin the season on the PUP list, forcing him to miss at least the first four games of the season. On the bright side he has shown the ability to impact a team in a hurry. Just a few years ago, Beckham Jr. was a key piece to helping the Los Angeles Rams win Super Bowl LVI after being acquired at the trade deadline.
When Beckham Jr is able to join the team, he should fit in the third receiver role right away and be an outstanding weapon for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
