Fans roast Ravens players for salty comments after loss to Chiefs

The Baltimore Ravens don’t seem to be taking their Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs particularly well.

After falling just short of a win over the defending Super Bowl champions, Ravens stars Isaiah Likely and Roquan Smith spoke to the media in a postgame press conference, and did their best to convince reporters of something in their comments.

When Likely gave his takeaway from the opening game, he seemed overly confident of Baltimore’s ability to win a matchup against Kansas City in a potential playoff rematch.

“I’d say this is probably the worst game we’re going to play all year,” Likely said, before adding, “If this is the best that they’ve got, good luck in the postseason.”

While Likely’s confidence is admirable, such comments seem a bit rich after the Ravens’ two consecutive losses to the Chiefs.

On the other hand, Smith’s time at the podium was spent on a tough guy routine intended to call out Kansas City’s newly-acquired fourth-string tight end Peyton Hendershot, who got chippy on the sideline after the linebacker laid an egregious late hit out of bounds on Patrick Mahomes in the second half.

“He [Mahomes] flopped,” Smith told reporters. “He flopped. That’s why the referees didn’t call [it]… That was a great no-call by the ref, but whoever 88 [Chiefs TE Peyton Hendershot] is, I don’t know who he is, but he’d better watch himself.”

Chiefs fans had a field day reacting to Baltimore’s quotes on Twitter after the game and took no mercy on their twice-defeated opponents.
