Colts rule out S Julian Blackmon for Week 2 game at Green Bay Packers

“I don’t think it’s long-term,” Steichen said regarding the veteran safety.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (back) did not participate in practice this week but was not ruled out for Sunday’s game. “(I’m) doing everything that I can to be out there on the field with my guys,” Buckner said Thursday, adding his availability probably would be a gametime decision. Steichen said he’s “very optimistic” regarding Buckner.

Defensive end Kwity Paye (hamstring) participated in practice Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday’s practices. Gay will kick for the Colts on Sunday after missing Week 1.
