Bengals Commanders What to Watch For

Burrow vs. NFC

Burrow has won his last eight starts against NFC opponents dating back to Week 2 of the 2022 season at Dallas. He is tied with Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson for the longest active winning streak versus NFC foes.

Since that Dallas loss in 2022, Burrow is 225-for-308 (73.1 percent) for 2,231 yards and 19 touchdowns with four interceptions when facing the NFC, good for a passer rating of 108.3. The Bengals scored 30-plus points in six of those eight contests, and three of those performances resulted in Burrow being named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Burrow One Away From Century Touchdown

Burrow enters Week 3 with 99 career touchdown passes in 54 regular-season games. With just one passing score on Monday night, he will tie for the seventh-fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 100 for his career. Burrow is coming off a two-touchdown performance in Week 2 at Kansas City, his 34th career game with multiple TD throws.

McPherson Two Away From Century Kick

Evan McPherson heads into Monday night with 98 career regular-season field goal attempts. Should he convert his first two tries against the Commanders, he would have 85 total makes, the third-most through a kicker’s first 100 attempts in Bengals history. Only Shayne Graham and Randy Bullock (87 each) have more.

Money Mac is five-for-five on field goals so far this season, including makes of 51 yards in Week 1 against New England and 53 in Week 2 at Kansas City. It marked the fifth time in his career that he nailed a 50-plus-yarder in consecutive regular-season games — he’s never done it in three straight contests.

Pass Defense

The Bengals’ 257 net passing yards allowed so far are their fewest through the first two games of a season since 2017 (209). Cincinnati enters Week 3 tied for second in the NFL in net passing yards allowed per game at 128.5 and just intercepted Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs twice…
