Cowboys fans enjoyed an angst-free TV-watching Sunday, with their team already having notched their Week 4 win on Thursday. Not all the news is rosy to start the week, though. It’s becoming clear Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence will miss some time… but the club does have hope that another banged-up defender is on his way back soon.
Meanwhile, we’re still looking back at the 20-15 victory over the Giants, including a review of who needs to step up, who’s not being utilized, and who may have just lost his roster spot. The game set a new record for streaming, but the broadcast crew might have crossed a line with one tasteless cutaway shot of a particular face in the crowd. We’ll show you how CeeDee Lamb made one fan’s night, we’ll do some window-shopping in the AFC North and South for trade help, and we’ll tell you where the Cowboys front office ranked (or not) among the league’s 32, according to insiders.

The Pro Bowl cornerback is set to do some expanded on-field work with Cowboys director of rehab Britt Brown this week, but it is “unclear at the moment if he will be ready to go” when the team visits the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.
Both defensive standouts will miss time for Dallas with injuries suffered in Thursday’s win. Parsons is expected to be out for seven to 10 days and then have his high-ankle sprain re-evaluated. Lawrence is expected to be placed on injured reserve with a mid-foot sprain. Rookie Marshawn Kneeland will need to step up in the interim, along with Chauncey Golston. Carl Lawson has two practice squad elevations remaining.
Brandin Cooks isn’t the only Cowboy who needs to find an extra gear. Rico Dowdle is missing a chance to establish the RB room’s real identity. Mazi Smith needs to build off Thursday’s excellent outing, Marshawn Kneeland has a golden opportunity in front of him, and CeeDee Lamb needs to carry his first-half dominance over to his post-halftime play.
Cornerback Andrew Booth started in Week 4, but was such a liability on the field trying to cover Malik Nabers that he was benched by the third quarter in favor of a practice squadder who went on to seal the win with his late-game interception. With DaRon Bland headed back soon, Booth can likely be cut loose without a second thought.
