LSU couldn’t have picked a better weekend to be idle.
Week 6 was one of the wildest we’ve seen in college football in a while, with four top 10 teams going down including top-five SEC teams in Alabama and Tennessee, which lost road games against Vanderbilt and Arkansas, respectively.
In the US LBM Coaches Poll, the Tigers were a beneficiary. They saw a two-spot rise and now rank inside the top 10. In the AP Top 25, however, it’s a different story. They’re staying put at No. 13 despite a lot of change around them following the bye week.
LSU still has a good chance to climb into the top 10 in the AP poll if it can win its next game at home against Ole Miss, which ranks ninth after a convincing bounce-back win against South Carolina.
