DB Steven Jones Jr.
Steven Jones was an offseason addition for this Arlington unit. He quickly proved to be an important piece of Jay Hayes’ defense, starting in every game for the Renegades this season. Jones finished the year with 32 tackles, two interceptions, and two PBU’s.
Jones was one of the stronger DB’s in coverage this year according to PFF, allowing just a 58% completion percentage when targeted. Steven received some NFL interest after his UFL campaign, having a couple of workouts with the Saints.
A PERFECT PICK! 🔒

Steven played his college football at Appalachian State, posting 131 tackles, a sack, and seven interceptions across his time there. This earned him a brief stint with the Titans in 2023. Now, he’ll look to run it back with this Arlington franchise in 2025.
S Joe Powell
There aren’t many who have been around longer in the spring football scene than Joe Powell. In every league he’s played in, Joe has made an impact defensively. He played with the Birmingham Iron in the AAF in 2019, totaling 13 tackles and an interception before the league folded.
Powell made the jump to the XFL in 2020, making a name for himself after being the first player to return a kickoff to the end zone. He posted five tackles with the Battlehawks that year.
The kick return so tricky we just HAVE to see it again! 😍
