USC football falls even farther behind Dan Lanning and No. 2 Oregon

Ducks Wire graded Oregon’s offensive line against Ohio State, giving the Ducks an A-plus:

“Remember when this group was much-maligned and we wondered how Oregon was going to get through a season with these guys? It’s the most-improved position group of the season and it’s not even close. This was the fourth straight game the offensive line didn’t allow a sack and this was against Ohio State, not Boise State. It was a huge test and they passed with flying colors.”

The consistent, dramatic improvement in Oregon’s offensive line during this season is very much unlike USC’s offensive line, which was slightly better against Penn State than in previous weeks, but which has still failed to play at an elite standard in any big game. Line play very much separated the Ducks from the Trojans in the first half of the season, particularly the past three weeks.
