8 stats and facts to know for Week 7

The next team on the Los Angeles Rams’ schedule is the Las Vegas Raiders, a team somewhat in limbo with a recent quarterback change and it’s now without its top receiver after trading Davante Adams to the New York Jets on Tuesday. The Rams are understandably favored in this matchup, the first time all year that they haven’t been an underdog, but they can’t afford to take any team lightly right now.

Looking ahead to this matchup at SoFi Stadium on Sunday afternoon, there are a handful of stats and facts to know for Week 7.

This will only be the Rams’ 16th game all-time against the Raiders, making it a rare matchup between these two cross-conference foes. The Rams have lost eight of their 15 games against the Raiders but they’re currently on a three-game winning streak – a streak that was kept alive by Baker Mayfield two years ago when he led a miraculous 98-yard touchdown drive in the final two minutes to win the game.

If the Rams can’t stop Las Vegas’ rushing attack, there might be no hope moving forward.

If there’s one thing the Raiders have done well this season, it’s standing tall on third down defensively. Las Vegas is allowing opponents to convert on third down just 30.1% of the time, the third-best rate of any team. Granted, they have faced the Panthers, Browns, Broncos and Steelers, but it’s still impressive to see how well they’ve performed on third down.

It’s been a disaster for the Rams on defense thus far. They’ve given up the most rushing yards per game (157.6) and they’re allowing the most yards per pass attempt (9.0). They’re allowing nearly 1 more…
