Winning at all costs has always been a thing in Dallas and thoughts of tanking for draft positioning had always been a no-no. The roster gymnastics the Cowboys made during the week on top of a few curious player decisions pointed to the team angling for better draft odds. While that may be blasphemous to the football gods, it’s the first sign of progressive thinking from this front office in quite some time.
Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, nothing is ever easy in Dallas and Team Tank will likely sit next to the eternal optimists all season long eventually winding up a middle-of-pack team that held on top of their playoff hopes way too long.
Still shots of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in his suite didn’t show an overly happy person. Perhaps all the wild moments leading up to this point had Jones convinced he couldn’t celebrate until there were zeros on the clock.
Regardless, Dallas can move up the ranks with another win on Thanksgiving against the Giants. Defeating New York would match the longest winning streak of 2024 for Dallas at two games. It would also give Dallas ten days to prepare for an underachieving Cincinnati team with Carolina right after.
Conclusion; the remainder of the Cowboys season may look like the fourth quarter against Washington.
