Kyon began his college career at Arizona, which is where he played for four years. Barrs worked his way into a starting role during his final couple of seasons there. In 2021, he was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team Defense, after posting 33 tackles, eight TFLβs, and a team best five sacks. The success continued in 2022, with Barrs starting all 12 games, and totaling 39 tackles.

During the preseason, Kyon racked up three tackles across three games (58 snaps). He posted a 59.1 Defensive Grade via PFF, with a strong tackling grade of 71.2.
