Arlington Renegades Sign Free Agent DT Kyon Barrs

XFL COMPLETES DAY ONE OF DRAFT IN LAS VEGAS

The Arlington Renegades made another free agent addition to their defense on Tuesday. Sources tell Pro Football Newsroom that DT Kyon Barrs has agreed to terms with Arlington, preparing to join the team for UFL Training Camp in March.

Kyon began his college career at Arizona, which is where he played for four years. Barrs worked his way into a starting role during his final couple of seasons there. In 2021, he was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team Defense, after posting 33 tackles, eight TFL’s, and a team best five sacks. The success continued in 2022, with Barrs starting all 12 games, and totaling 39 tackles.

For his final season, though, Barrs decided to make the jump to USC. He started in seven of 13 games with the Trojans, recording 18 tackles.

This led to an NFL opportunity with the Seattle Seahawks. Barrs signed to Seattle as an UDFA this past August, and remained with the team until September. He was on the practice squad for a few days, but got cut on the 3rd of September.

During the preseason, Kyon racked up three tackles across three games (58 snaps). He posted a 59.1 Defensive Grade via PFF, with a strong tackling grade of 71.2.
