After coming over to the Cleveland Browns for a pair of Day 3 picks this offseason, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has proved everybody who criticized the move wrong.
Now, the Browns look like geniuses for getting ahead of Jeudy’s market and giving him a contract extension rather than waiting for him to hit the open market in free agency. Had they not, Jeudy would have cost them much more money than what the Browns extended him for this offseason at around $15 million per year. After his 235-yard game against his former team, Jeudy now sits at 880 yards receiving on the season.
Despite only racking up 266 yards in seven games with Deshaun Watson at quarterback, Jeudy and quarterback Jameis Winston have developed immediate chemistry at every level of the field. He has 614 yards in five games with Winston under center. With those 880 yards, where does Jeudy now stand among the top receivers in the NFL in receiving yards with five games to go?
