Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett left the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an eye injury.

The reigning defensive player of the year was trying to work around Chiefs’ offensive lineman Joe Thuney when he suffered the injury. It looked like Thuney may have inadvertently hit Garrett through his face mask. He is the second defensive starter to leave the game, following cornerback Martin Emerson Jr.

Garrett immediately threw off his helmet during the play and writhed on the ground in pain. Garrett was able to get immediate medical attention and walked off the field with trainers. He went right to the locker room.

The players on the Chiefs were incredibly worried about Garrett. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes flagged down medical trainers immediately after the play ended. Thuney made sure to console Garrett as he made his way off the field.

It was telling how much respect the Chiefs have for Garrett. Especially, as the team could’ve easily celebrated the touchdown they scored on the play.

The Browns put a visor on Garrett’s helmet as he continued to be examined by the medical staff. He is questionable to return.
