Jets’ Quinnen Williams in grey area for Rams game

The New York Jets defense heads into the team’s Week 16 clash with the Los Angeles Rams with some unknowns surrounding one of the unit’s best players.

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams did not have his best game for the Jets (4-10) last week despite the team’s 32-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11). He had multiple missed tackles which was a surprising sight to see from him.

Following the contest it was revealed that Williams sustained a hamstring injury and played through it, explaining his struggles.

Throughout this past week, Williams did not practice once. New York head coach Jeff Ulbrich explained on Friday that this designation does not rule Williams out for the Jets’ upcoming clash with the Rams.

“If there’s someone who can play without practicing, it’s him,” Ulbrich said.

The Jets are going to evaluate Williams up until kickoff. He’s a true “game-time decision” against the Rams.

Williams was officially listed as “questionable” on the Jets’ final injury report.

Another note: cornerback Michael Carter II (back) has been ruled out.

Ulbrich’s full breakout on Williams can be found in the clip below:
