Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown is in danger of missing his team’s Week 18 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After suffering an injury late in the prior week’s win to keep slim playoff hopes alive, Brown is trying to work his way back onto the field before kickoff — at one of the depth chart’s thinnest positions.
Here’s the latest.
Chase Brown injury update
- Brown didn’t practice all week, finishing as “questionable” on the final injury report.
- NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport suggested Brown is a true game-time decision after testing it in pregame warmups.
How long will Chase Brown be out?
Brown could miss the game entirely after the pregame test. A shame, considering he suffered what has been classified as a high ankle sprain while sliding instead of scoring a touchdown in an effort to keep the clock running during last week’s win over Denver.
Bengals RB depth chart
- Chase Brown, Khalil Herbert, Trayveon Williams, Kendall Milton
The Bengals made a roster move this week to reinforce the depth at the position. But it’s one of the roster’s thinnest, even after the emergency trade deadline deal to bring on Herbert. He could get the biggest amount of work after Joe Burrow trusted him on a check into an option at the line of scrimmage last week. Much of it will come down to pregame installs and which back handles the pass-protection best.
