It was only a matter of time: the Arlington Renegades are retaining their star QB in Luis Perez. Last week, when the UFL schedule dropped, Perez posted to Instagram that he was “ready for round 3”. This all but confirms that he’s returning to the league, which lines up with what we’ve heard from several folks around the UFL prior to Luis making it public.
NEWS: @XFLRenegades QB Luis Perez has announced that he will be returning to Arlington for another #UFL campaign.
Perez won #XFL Championship MVP honors in ’23, and was a UFL leader in almost every passing category this past season.

When it comes to spring football, Luis Perez has been everywhere. He’s got experience in the AAF, XFL, TSL, USFL, and UFL. No matter the league, Perez has performed at a high level – but has continued to get better from year to year.
After a 9-1 campaign with the USFL’s New Jersey Generals in 2022, Luis made his way to the XFL. A midseason trade from Vegas to Arlington was the catalyst for the Renegades’ Championship run, where Luis was named MVP of that matchup.

In 2024, Luis made his return to the Renegades, this time in the UFL. He arguably had his best season as a passer, leading the league in 12 passing categories. Perez threw for 2,309 yards this year, tossing 18 touchdowns to just four interceptions.
Luis Perez finishes the UFL season. Great to work with this guy!!
