On Tuesday, the Houston Roughnecks cut the roster down once again, waiving six players. With UFL Training Camp rosters set at 66, the Roughnecks needed to make some moves – and did so in their latest transaction report.

RB Dezmon Jackson: With the signings of ZaQuandre White and Morgan Ellison, it appears that Houston no longer felt the need to roster Dezmon Jackson. Jackson was an offseason addition to the team, with collegiate success at Oklahoma State and Sam Houston State, alongside Hutchinson CC.
WR Carlos Carriere: It’s unfortunate to see Carlos Carriere getting cut once again, without a true opportunity to prove himself in camp. The same thing happened to him through the USFL-XFL merger, as he was originally signed with the San Antonio Brahmas before Hines Ward stepped down. With the WR core Houston has, though, it’s not a surprise.
OG Calvin Ashley: Calvin Ashley not getting a chance to compete in UFL Training Camp is a shame. Ashley was a standout with the New Jersey Generals for two years, and was a prospect who was primed to help improve this Houston O-Line. Calvin is someone who should be on someone’s roster in camp.
OG Maea Teuhema: Maea Teuhema was an offseason addition as well, as a spring veteran who had plenty of experience in this scene. With some of the younger pickups on the O-Line, though, it makes sense to see GM Will Lewis move on from one of his older names in the room.
OT Ethan Carde: Carde was another new signing, out of Boise State. He’s someone that brought youth and potential to the table, so it’s tough to see him get cut without a chance to prove himself in camp.
LB Juwan Mitchell: Mitchell caps off the cuts as another athlete who wasn’t given the opportunity to make it to Training Camp. He’s a young linebacker who spent his college days at…
