When the commentators are turning on Patrick Mahomes, it’s finally gone too far.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback remains a subject of controversy as penalties continue to go against the Houston Texans entering the fourth quarter of Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round.
During the first quarter, Will Anderson Jr. was slapped with a roughing the passer call after barely tapping Mahomes following a pass. That led to a 36-yard field goal from Harrison Butker.

In the third quarter, Mahomes tried to take off running and began to slide. As he was going down, Henry To’oTo’o made the tackle, thus leading to another late hit against the Texans and a first down. Kansas City would march downfield to extend the lead by eight with a Travis Kelce 11-yard touchdown.
Fans are fed up with the refs giving the three-time Super Bowl winner special treatment. C.J. Stroud has been hit late a handful of times, but the second Mahomes gets touched, a flag and an extra 15 yards on the way.
Here’s some of the internet’s best reaction.
