In 2023, Michigan football tried its best to stage something of a coup, working hard to keep elite 2024 Ohio cornerbacks Aaron Scott and Bryce West from going to Ohio State. Unfortunately for the Wolverines, they failed on both counts. But they’re working to right those wrongs with future Ohio-based stars.
On Sunday, the maize and blue held a pivotal recruiting weekend with a number of prospects — namely 2025 Denton (Tx.) Ryan five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood, but even 2026 and 2027 classes got a look.
Perhaps the most pivotal is 2026 Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic four-star cornerback Victor Singleton, who Sherrone Moore visited earlier in the week. Singleton returned the favor by making it to campus on Saturday, and afterward, he posted a picture of him with the Michigan football headman.

Singleton is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 45 player in the 2026 class, regardless of position, the third-best cornerback, and top-rated player in the state of Ohio. He does have one 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction indicating he will eventually choose the Buckeyes.
But he wasn’t alone.
Yet unranked, but with an offer sheet that indicates he’ll be a top player, 2027 Cincinnati (Ohio) Anderson cornerback Ace Alston also posted that he got some face time with Moore in Ann Arbor on Sunday.
