The Dolphins need to ensure the quarterback position is equipped for better backup play. While Tyler Huntley may be back, he’s certainly not guaranteed the role behind Tua Tagovailoa in 2025. The Dolphins would be wise to draft and develop a quarterback who could step up more adequately than recent backups for Miami.

Players like Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss, and Oregon’s Dillion Gabriel could see their stock rise if they impress in Mobile, and the Dolphins could be in play should one be available in the second round. All three bring a dual-threat component to their game with out-of-pocket improvisation skills.

Given Tagovailoa’s injury history, drafting one of these three as a backup with development in mind, could warrant the use of a Day 2 pick. The No. 13 overall selection is too early for Miami to select a quarterback, but Grier could even elect to move up from No. 48 overall should he truly want to invest in the position.
