A popular pick in many 2025 NFL mock drafts for the Indianapolis Colts is Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. However, in Daniel Jeremiah’s first mock of this draft cycle, Warren was taken in the top 10.
Jeremiah is one of the best in the business when it comes to the draft. While at this early stage of the pre-draft process, a lot will change, and trying to gauge where Warren will be selected is still a guess at this point, with Jeremiah’s track record, this is at least noteworthy.
It’s easy to see why Warren is a popular pick for the Colts. They very much need a pass-catching presence at the tight end position and Warren totaled 1,230 receiving yards in 2024 with eight touchdowns.
But in addition to that, he’s versatile, able to line up all over the formation, and a capable blocker. That well-rounded skill set would add a new dimension to the Colts’ offense and a layer of unpredictability as well.
Jeremiah had Warren going seventh overall in his first mock draft to the New York Jets and had this to say:
“Warren is one of my favorite players in this draft,” wrote Jeremiah. “He will be popular with his quarterback and running backs as a difference-making in-line tight end.”
If Warren is gone before the Colts are on the clock, safety and cornerback are two other positions of need for this team. At least as of now, there probably isn’t another tight end that the Colts would take at 14th overall, so they would have to address the position later on in the draft.
