Bengals final injury report vs Commanders leaves questions for kickoff

The final injury report for the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of the primetime showdown against the Washington Commanders answered some questions about key names such as Tee Higgins and Sheldon Rankins.

Others, not so much.

According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Saturday that wideout Tee Higgins would make his return from the hamstring injury that cost him the first two games of the season.

Taylor also ruled out defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins, meaning the defense will likely need to start backups on the interior while also relying on ends to kick inside to help.

Also on the interior, B.J. Hill sounds like a game-time decision after he also suffered a hamstring injury last week. Rookie Kris Jenkins Jr. will play with  a club on the hand recovering from thumb surgery, though how many snaps he sees will be a point to watch.

Not as clear, though, is the playing status of safety Vonn Bell, who suffered a back injury this week during practice. Jordan Battle would be the first man up in place of the veteran who has played 99 percent of the snaps so far.
