Defensive keys to Penn State’s Blue-White game on Saturday

Going into the 2022 football season, Nittany Lions Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Penn State roster.

One of Penn State’s most notable returning starters on the defensive side of the football is cornerback Joey Porter Jr. The son of a former all-pro in the NFL, Porter Jr. is working on leaving his own marks on the football field, and Penn State is benefitting from that effort. Porter Jr. is being viewed as a potential first-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL draft as one of the nation’s top cornerback prospects.

One starting position that is already locked down on the Penn State defense is the one belonging to Joey Porter Jr. The returning starter from a year ago decided to return for one more year at Penn State and cemented his place atop the defensive depth chart for the upcoming season.

What is left to determine is who will line up on the opposite side of the defense.
