Jordan Addison story becomes explosive for USC and Pittsburgh

It has been the big topic of these first days of May: the Jordan Addison controversy at USC.

It is worth noting that since this story broke in late April, the initial rumors of an NIL deal being signed, sealed and delivered — with Addison going to USC being a formality — have turned out to be false. The idea that Addison was a lock to become a Trojan because he couldn’t resist Lincoln Riley and the school’s money was just not substantiated.

The rush to paint Lincoln Riley as the villain, and USC as a problem in the world of NIL and pay-for-play, was not justified, even though it was emotionally understandable.
