Husker helmets throughout the years

Husker helmets throughout the years

At the start of the 1970 college football season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers debuted their new helmet. The classic white helmet, red stripe down the middle, and bright and bold red NU on the site were being adjusted. The U  was dropped, and the N was centered on both sides. For the last 50-plus years, the helmet has remained the same in one form or another. However, starting in 2009, the Cornhuskers joined the rest of the college football and started using the occasional alternate uniform.

Below is a gallery of the traditional and alternate helmets that Nebraska has worn over the years. Sound off, and let us know which one is your favorite.
