Hunter Renfrow receives massive extension

Former Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow just got paid the big bucks.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Renfrow and the Las Vegas Raiders have agreed on a two-year $32 million extension with $21 million guaranteed. The Raiders drafted Renfrow in the fifth round in the 2019 NFL Draft, and since then, he has been a very productive receiver.

He had his best statistical year in 2021, racking up 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns, which were all career-high marks for the 26-year-old.

“We are thrilled to have reached an agreement with Hunter Renfrow and look forward to seeing him in Silver and Black for years to come,” said Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. “Hunter is one of the true leaders on this team and he exemplifies the values of the organization in how he comes to work every day. He is a tremendous teammate on and off the field and the entire Raider Nation is excited to see what the future holds for Hunter.”

Playing under head coach Dabo Swinney from 2015 to 2018, Renfrow was an integral part of Clemson’s two most recent CFP National Championships. He caught the game-winning touchdown against Alabama in 2016’s championship game and was fourth in receiving yards on the Tigers’ 2018 team.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Renfrow’s payday.
