Vote for whether the Chiefs should trade for Bears EDGE Robert Quinn

The Kansas City Chiefs still have a number of ways to improve their roster ahead of the 2022 NFL season. One of those ways — perhaps Brett Veach’s favorite way to improve his roster — is to make a trade.

Teams have been inquiring about a trade for Chicago Bears pass-rusher Robert Quinn since before the 2022 NFL draft. We made a case for the Chiefs as potential trade partners for Quinn when that news was reported, but Chicago has been steadfast in its desire to hold onto him.

It’s easy to see why teams inquired, though. Last season, the 31-year-old had a career year, recording 49 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 47 pressures and 18.5 sacks. He makes a lot of sense for a team like K.C. given their need for pass-rush help and the fact that Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo drafted Quinn in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft when he was head coach of the St. Louis Rams.

Quinn skipped voluntary OTAs, but he recently skipped out on the Bears’ mandatory minicamp with an unexcused absence. It sounds like new head coach Matt Eberflus isn’t too pleased about it either.

“We hoped he would be here. He’s not,” Eberflus said during mandatory minicamp. “Ryan (Poles) and his staff are going to work through that.”

There have been some rumblings that the 11-year veteran wants out of Chicago and wants an opportunity to play for a contender. It’s entirely possible that former Chiefs executive and new Bears GM Ryan Poles could seek out a trade partner for Quinn.

Do you think Kansas City should consider making a trade to acquire Quinn from Chicago? Be sure to vote in our poll at the top of the page. Also, share your thoughts with us in the comment section down below or on Facebook and Twitter.
