ESPN names two ‘23 positions Notre Dame is doing a great job in recruiting

When you have one of the best recruiting classes in the country, it’s expected that your positional groups should be among some of the best collections in the nation. The current group of Notre Dame’s twenty commits is very defensive heavy in talent, so it should come as no surprise when Tom VanHaaren of ESPN named two positions of the Irish’s current recruiting haul as one of the top groups in the country.

VanHaaren first names the safety’s the Irish have verbals from, Peyton Bowen and Adon Shuler. Both of them are ranked inside ESPN’s Top 300, with Bowen 30th overall. VanHaaren believes that “both will have an opportunity to contribute early in their career with the current depth chart.”

The other positional group VanHaaren mentions is the collection of defensive lineman led by ESPN’s number one defensive end Keon Keeley. His future teammates Brenan VernonBoubacar Traore and Devan Houstan were singled out as well.

In order for the Irish to continue to stay on this list come signing day, their going to have to fend off schools trying to flip some of their more impressive commits. Alabama is coming hard after Keeley, as he just recently visiting Tuscaloosa. Bowen is also still talking with schools, most notably Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
