247Sports ranks Michigan football trifecta on offense No. 8

We are just a little under two weeks away from Michigan football taking the field against Colorado State in the home opener.

The Wolverines are coming off of a 12-2 season, which included making their first College Football Playoff appearance. The maize and blue may have lost a lot of starting experience on defense, but Michigan returns nine starters on offense.

The Wolverines are absolutely loaded at the skill positions on offense. Michigan can use its abundance of talent in a variety of ways in 2022, so the offense should be nothing less than fun to watch.

247Sports wrote an article ranking the best quarterback, running back, and receiver trifecta for 2022. Matt Howe, who wrote the article, ranked eight teams, and he had the Wolverines’ trifecta coming in at No. 8.

He listed Cade McNamara/J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum, and Ronnie Bell as the three-headed monster.

Wide receiver Ronnie Bell returns to the Wolverines after missing all of the 2021 season with an injury. He could be one of the Big Ten’s most explosive wideouts, as he has averaged 16.6 yards per catch in 27 games over the last four years with Michigan. Running back Blake Corum returns in 2022 after a breakout 2021 season where he rushed 144 times for 952 yards (6.6 yards per carry) and 11 touchdowns. The quarterback competition is the same as last year’s. In 2021, McNamara appeared in 14 games and threw for 2,576 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. McCarthy appeared in 11 games and threw for 516 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

If this article was based on depth, we would expect Michigan to be ranked even higher with the likes of Donovan Edwards and all the wide receivers that will play this year. On Tuesday, we heard from Ron Bellamy that three receivers on the team reminds him of three former Michigan greats.

Here are the complete list of teams ranked for their ‘trifecta’ going into the 2022 season.
