Dallas’ decision to cut Hajrullahu removes both kickers in the team’s initial training camp competition off the roster, with Hajrullahu following rookie UDFA Jonathan Garibay. Mid-camp addition Brett Maher, in stint No. 2 with the Cowboys, is now the only kicker on the team’s roster.
Chicago’s new regime cut bait on Newsome, who struggled in camp. The Bears have added a host of veteran receivers this offseason and used a third-round pick on Velus Jones and determined Newsome — a sixth-round pick in the Ryan Pace–Matt Nagy regime’s final draft — did not merit sticking around through the second wave of cuts. Newsome caught two passes as a rookie and served as a part-time punt returner.
