What does Preston Carey think about Tennessee? How about Rutgers?

Preston Carey hasn’t played a down of varsity football yet and already, the Long Island prospect looks like a potential four-star recruit. In fact, he pulled in another SEC offer last week.

The freshman at powerhouse St. Anthony’s (Melville, N.Y.) is currently in the middle of training camp for the upcoming season, his first of varsity football. He will be playing alongside talent such as Rutgers football commit Ian Strong, a safety.

The ninth-grade lineman checks in at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. He holds some serious Power Five offers including Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers and Texas A&M.

Earlier this summer, he was named the MVP of the Football University (FBU) camp in New Jersey.

Preston Carey on being offered by Tennessee football

“Out of all the offers so far, I mean, all of them have been shocking, but that’s kind of out of nowhere. I was coming off a long day of practice. And I got a call from my coach and I basically got the offer extended from Tennessee. It was just another blessing. And I’ve been working hard at practice all the past weeks and so I think it was just a sign that I’m gonna keep working hard and great things are gonna keep coming.”

Preston Carey on why the Tennessee football offer was a shock

“I mean, some of their coaches have reached out to me on Twitter about camps and little things like that, but not much before that.”

Preston Carey on upcoming visit and if he will visit with Rutgers football this fall

“I definitely want to get back to Rutgers for a game you know, I love coach Vallone (Scott Vallone), I love coach Schiano (head coach Greg Schiano). Also, I’m definitely gonna get that to start talking dates with a bunch of other schools….
