Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been named the NFLPA Community MVP for Week 2. The selfless star in Washington celebrated his 27th birthday recently by giving back to the community.
He launched his new foundation, the Terry McLaurin Foundation, at FedExField last week by hosting underserved children from the Court Appointed Special Advocates of DC and Big Brothers Big Sisters, gifting each of them a new pair of shoes and passing out grocery store gift cards to foster parents and mentors.
The night also included dinner, games and a DJ for everyone in attendance to enjoy.
“It is truly an honor to receive the NFLPA Community MVP,” McLaurin said. “I’m thankful to have a platform that allows me the opportunity to positively impact so many people in my community.”
The NFLPA made a $10,000 contribution to the charity or foundation of McLaurin’s choice for receiving this award. He’s the second player this season to win it, joining Myles Garrett, who was the Week 1 honoree.
