Week 2 staff picks and predictions

The New York Giants (2-1) will take on the Chicago Bears (2-1) this Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium in their first of two legacy games of the 2022 regular season.

Experts are leaning heaving toward New York this week — 9:1 — with all of them expecting a one-score game.

How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 4 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions:

The Giants aren’t exactly a deep team nor are they exceptionally talented on offense, but the Bears are lacking in every form and facet. Provided Daniel Jones can avoid a costly mistake, there’s little reason to believe Big Blue can’t steamroll Chicago.

Chicago cannot throw the football and it’s doubtful they’ll start doing that with any success this week. If the Giants’ stop the run, the game is over. Big if. The Giants have not been very good against the run and with Leonard Williams is out again, those struggles could continue. A low-scoring game is expected (O/U is 39.5) but the Giants have a top kicker in Graham Gano and are due for a better well-rounded effort after falling short last week against Dallas.

The Giants come into this one hoping to rebound from their loss against Dallas on Monday night. When you look at the Bears, there aren’t a lot of big names that jump out at you but they have been running the ball efficiently. As long as the Giants don’t overlook the running game they should be able to get the win on Sunday. I am expecting a lot of the Saquon Barkley for the Giants offense with the wide receivers depleted by injury. Hopefully, the offensive line plays better than they did on Monday night. I think the game will remain close throughout but ultimately the Giants will be able to pull away In the final minutes.

It’s going to be an ugly game, but the Giants are the better team here. Saquon Barkley looks back to his old self and even though Leonard Williams won’t be…
